SSC CHSL Recruitment 2020

    The Staff Selection Commission has released the new dates for the 2020 SSC CHSL exam. The computer-based online examination for Tier-1 was scheduled to be held from 17 to 28 March 2020. However, due to the global pandemic, the CHSL exam from 20 th to 28 th March has been delayed. The CHSL exam was only conducted for the first three days (17 th , 18 th , & 19 th March). The examination for the remaining applicants will be organized from 12 th to 16 th December, 19 th to 21 st December, and 26 th December 2020.

    Vacancies for SSC CHSL 2020

    Although the SSC CHSL 2020 exam’s total vacancies had been released back on 7 th January 2020, recently, the Staff Selection Commission has released a new notice concerning the vacancies. According to the latest update, the SSC has provided 4,893 vacancies for SSC CHSL 2020 Exam. Please refer to the table below for post-wise vacancies:

    Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL Exam

    There are three essential criteria that candidates must fulfill to become eligible for the SSC CHSL 2020 exam:

    1. Citizenship :

    1. an Indian citizen, or
    2. a subject of Bhutan, Nepal, or
    3. a Tibetan refugee who travelled to India before January 1 st , 1962, with the intent of settling permanently in India, or
    4. a person belonging to Indian origin and has migrated from Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Vietnam, with the intent of settling permanently in India.r

    2. Age Limit :

    The predefined age limit for the posts is 18 to 27 years as of January 1 st , 2020. The permissible relaxation in the upper age limit for distinct categories are described below:

    3. Education Qualification :

    For LDC/JSA, DEO (excluding DEOs in C & AG), and PA/SA: The candidates who are planning to attempt the SSC CHSL 2020 examination must have successfully cleared 12 th Standard or any equivalent exam from a recognized University or Board.

    For DEO in C & AG: The candidates must have successfully cleared 12 th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a predominant subject from a recognized board or any equivalent exam from a recognized University.

    Exam Pattern

    The SSC conducts the CHSL exam in 3 levels for different posts:

    Before starting the preparation for SSC CHSL, it is essential to note the changes in the examination pattern and syllabus.

  • The Tier-1 SSC CHSL 2020 exam will be conducted online.
  • A descriptive paper worth 100 marks has been introduced in pen and paper mode, for which candidates will be allotted 60 minutes.
  • The time-limit for the Tier-1 exam has been reduced to 60 minutes.
  • The Tier-3 exam will remain the same.
  • There will be no sectional cut-off marks..
  • Syllabus for SSC CHSL 2020 Exam

    There are four sections in the SSC CHSL 2020 Tier-1 exam, with 100 questions that account for 200 marks. Here are the subject-wise details:
