The 2019-20 examination for the SSC Stenographer Grade-C and Grade-D was initially planned to be
organized from May 5th, 2020 to May 7th, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it was
postponed. It will now be commenced from December 24th to December 30th, 2020.

The Staff Selection Commission has started the online application process for the SSC Stenographer
2020-2021 examination on October 10th, 2020. The final date for the application is November 4th,

For general and OBC candidates, the SSC Stenographer 2020 exam’s application fee is Rs. 100/-.
Candidates who belong to the SC, ST, People with Disability (PWD), ESM (Ex-servicemen), and all the
female candidates don’t have to pay the application fee.
Vacancies for SSC Stenographer
The Staff Selection Commission will release the total vacancies for SSC Stenographer soon. If you
look at previous years’ vacancies, you will see that total vacancies for Grade-C were 429 and for
Grade-D total vacancies were 1276. The vacancies are anticipated to be the same this year too.
SSC Stenographer 2020 Examination Pattern
The exam of SSC Stenographer will be organized in two different stages. The first stage is a Grade-C
and Grade-D test that contains multiple-choice questions, and it is done online. Once this test is
conducted, another test is organized by the Staff Selection Commission to evaluate your skills.

The question paper has an MCQ format. The questions are in English and Hindi language
(except Part-3)
The exam has negative marking, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Syllabus for SSC Stenographer 2020 Exam
The Staff Selection Commission published the amended syllabus for the SSC Stenographer 2020
exam in its official notification. The SSC Stenographer exam’s syllabus is fairly distinct for both levels
of the exam, and the candidates must know the complete syllabus to effectively prepare for the
exam. General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language &
Comprehension are 3 main sections you must have proficiency in for Paper-1 of the SSC
Stenographer examination.
SSC Stenographer 2020 Exam Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Required Educational Qualification: As of August 1 st , 2020, the minimum educational
qualification needed by candidates is 12 th standard from an acknowledged University or Board.
Age Limit: To get eligible for the SSC Stenographer Grade-C exam, the candidates must fall under the
age group of 18 to 30 years.
To get eligible for the SSC Stenographer Grade-D exam, the candidates must fall under the age group
of 18 to 27 years.
